Pulverized coal refers to coal with particle size less than 0.5 mm, which is the most commonly used additive in cast iron moulding sand. In recent years, pulverized coal and clay have been blended into a commodity (carbon clay) supply market abroad.
Pulverized coal is added to the wet sand for cast iron, which can prevent sand sticking defects on the surface of castings, improve the surface smoothness of castings, reduce sand inclusion defects and improve the collapsing function of moulding sand. For wet ductile iron castings, it can also effectively prevent subcutaneous pore formation. The circular swirl burner can be used without preheating the air.
The fluidity of pulverized coal is very fine, the surface area of pulverized coal per unit mass is large, and a large amount of air can be adsorbed on the surface, thus making it fluidity. This characteristic makes the pulverized coal easy to be pneumatic conveyed. The disadvantage is that it is easy to form pulverized coal self-flow and leak when the equipment is not tight.
Bucket hoist is very suitable for conveying pulverized coal.
